Today with the increase in knowledge, and more and more highly educated people, the Bible is viewed as a book for the ignorant and unlearned.  Many today view those of us who choose to believe God, as non thinkers, to put it nicely, (or as idiots, to be more blunt).  They say to us "You may be a very sincere person," they say, "but unfortunately you have been brainwashed by your religion. Your life of faith may be very meaningful to you, but in reality you are very naive and have simply been duped."  The truth of the matter is, it is only after you are willing to THINK, that the reality of who God is, and who you are, begins to become clear.  Consider Gods promise to you. 1 My son, if thou wilt receive my words, and hide my commandments with thee; 2 So that thou incline thine ear unto wisdom, and apply thine heart to understanding;  3 Yea, if thou criest after knowledge, and liftest up thy voice for understanding;  4 If thou seekest her as silver, and searchest for her as for hid treasures;  5 Then shalt thou understand the fear of the LORD, and find the knowledge of God.  6 For the LORD giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding.  Prov 2:1-6.   Look at how intelligent you are, you have read this paragraph, and fully comprehended everything you have read.  THINK!!!!!  Why would your creator give you this ability and not use your ability to try and reason with you?

More than anything else God wants you to think. Beginning with the first man Adam, the father of us all, God designed and created you with this capability.  Of all the creatures God created to inhabit the earth, you are most unique.  You are God's greatest earthly creation. There is nothing on the planet that even comes in at a close second. 7 And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. Gen 2:7. When God created you, he placed in you a mind which allows you to reason and deduce.  Along with this mind, God also placed in you a soul which is the seat of your sense of right and wrong (also called the conscience). God gave you the ability to be self-aware. This is an essence which is unique to you.   You have marvelous mental faculties that no other form of life has. You have thought, perception, imagination, intuition and the will. By divine design, God made you unique, because of your ability to understand the meaning of behavior and to know right from wrong. All other animals are instinctive, but you are unique, because God designed you to function by utilizing your intellect, emotions, and conscience to control your behavior.  Your God given ability to think is truly amazing.  You are actually able to read this page, and fully comprehend everything you have read so far, WOW!! (show this page to a dog and see if he understands). God took great pride in the fact that he had created a being LIKE YOU!!,

The journey to the place of self understanding is not for the faint of heart.  This journey requires a willingness on our part to allow the light of God's truth to show us the way.  When Christ came on the earth, he came to shine this light on the road many were traveling down. He did so with the intent that men could see where they were as opposed to where God would have them to be.  Ironically it would be the efforts on the part of Christ to shine the light of God's truth, on the path men were traveling, which would eventually lead him to Calvary.

None of this came as a surprise to Christ; he fully understood how hostile and resistant men would be to the light which leads the way to the place of self understanding. 19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.  20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. Jn 3:19-20.  Relying on the mind's eye alone, will never allow us to reach the place of self understanding: We must accept and embrace the light, if we to ever reach our destination.   In fact our journey never really begins in earnest until we began to accept what the light reveals to us about ourselves in three key areas.

These areas are, 1. Our conduct, what we do openly in the public sphere and secretly in the recesses of our mind, the spiritual sphere.  2. Our Character, how we are, not just by way of our perception of self, or others perception of us, but most importantly, God's true knowledge of the real us. 3. Our state of being, where we are now, and where we are heading for eternity. We are not wise enough to reach the place of self understanding via our own intellect or other cognitive resources.  The wisest thing we can do is acknowledge our need for God to help us reach this destination, (if this true is our desired destination). 5 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. 6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. Prov 3:5-6.

From the very beginning, God created you to be the most unique being of all.  God did this by placing within your mind the ability to think, on a level which was far above all his other earthly creatures.   To demonstrate how unique the mind of man was, God allowed Adam to name all the animals. We are told, that whatever Adam named the creature, became the name of that creature.  19 And out of the ground the LORD God formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air; and brought them unto Adam to see what he would call them: and whatsoever Adam called every living creature, that was the name thereof.   Gen 2:19.   Adam's mind was able to multi-task, He could meditate about life, ponder the choices before him, contemplate the difference between right and wrong, evaluate the consequences of his choice, fall in love with Eve,  while at the same time intelligently and creatively, coming up with names which described all the other creatures.

He could reason, choose, express emotions and be creative, he could think, so can you.  To insure that Adam would govern himself in a morally intelligent manner, God gave him this gift of self awareness, wrapped in wisdom, which was to be regulated by his conscience.   When it comes to you, you are Gods idea from start to finish, in the words of the psalmist,  "I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvelous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well." (Ps. 139:14). The makeup of man clearly displays the creativity of a wise creator (COMPARE SLIDES BELOW).   CLICK ON THE NEXT TAB BELOW TO ADVANCE SLIDES

So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.  Gen 1:27. God designed man to function as he does, but this does not make man God almighty.   When the scripture says that God formed Adam and Eve in his image, it does not mean, an image by way of appearance, but rather the image of God, by way of function and ability. Adam's mind was able to multi-task, He could meditate about life, ponder the choices before him, contemplate the difference between right and wrong, evaluate the consequences of his choice, fall in love with Eve,  while at the same time intelligently and creatively, coming up with names which described all the other creatures. He could reason, choose, express emotions and be creative, he could think.

In the first five days of his creation, God created many things.  He created many truly amazing types of creatures, some flew through the air, Others roamed on the earth, others dwelt beneath the earth, and others dwelt in the waters of the earth.. 20 And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven.  21 And God created great whales, and every living creature that moveth, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that it was good.  22 And God blessed them, saying, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let fowl multiply in the earth.  23 And the evening and the morning were the fifth day.  24 And God said, Let the earth bring forth the living creature after his kind, cattle, and creeping thing, and beast of the earth after his kind: and it was so.  25 And God made the beast of the earth after his kind, and cattle after their kind, and every thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind: and God saw that it was good. Gen 1:20-25.

After all the things he had created. it was on the sixth day that God decided to do the most amazing things of all.  He decided that he was going to create a creature, in which he would place abilities which were similar to his own. God decided to create a being, who would be able to intelligently ponder circumstances, and make intelligent choices, with the ability to fully comprehend the consequences of the choices made.  God also decreed that he would place in this creature the ability to be creative.

God decided that he would place in this creature, the ability to love, to hate, to believe, or not to believe, all this to be contingent on this creature's  ability to choose.  What makes you and I so special, is not so much the flesh and blood part of us, but what God placed in this flesh and blood body.  God placed in the physical body, a mind by which he could communicate with us on a level, far above all the other creatures.

By an act of his own will, God decided to give us our own free will.  All of this emanated from the mind of God, and flowed into the mind of man.

Designed with the ability to choose--  Our ability to choose goes way beyond that of all of the other creatures on earth.  All of the other creatures make choices based on instinct, whereas we are designed to make choices based on our ability to reason, deduce, and comprehend.   We can see this truth on display, by reflecting back on how God dealt with the father and mother of us all, Adam and Eve. God gave them instructions which were not given to any other creature. "you can either eat from the tree, or choose not to eat"  and then warning him of the consequences of his choice. "If you eat from the tree you will die".  Any other creature in the garden could freely eat from this tree, without and negative consequences, but because Adam and Eve were designed to think,  and make moral choices:  God held them accountable on a much higher level than any other earthly creature. for the choices he made.   This ability to think, deduce reasons, and make moral choices, comes with a great responsibility, IT'S CALLED ACCOUNTABILITY. "Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth [it] not, to him it is sin"  James 4:17.   As we know, starting with Eve, the two of them chose to eat from the tree.   When Eve made the choice to eat from the tree, God had the power to stop her, but he allowed her to act on the decision she had made.

There are some who think that when it comes to man's relationship with God, that man has no choice in the matter.  They say that it's all up to God.  They say He has to choose to want us,  He has to call us, and then answer the call on our behalf. This is not case, there are certain choices, we must make. This is what many don't understand, The power of salvation does belongs to God, but he gives us the ability to understand what he offers us, and choose if we want it. Just as Adam had a choice, in the garden, so we have a choice in this life

God gave Adam the freedom to intelligently choose, and endowed him with the ability to comprehend the consequences of his choice. "Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: but of the tree of knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die" (Gen. 2:16-17).  As we know Adam chose to eat.  Because Adam of his own free will chose to eat (he was not deceived by Satan as Eve was), he passed death and a sinful natures on to us. Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned  5om 5:23.

Even today God gives you the power over life and death, that is to say, your own life and death.  We have the exact same choice to make as Adam, as well as the God given ability to make an intelligent decision. God demonstrated this principle, to the Old Testament Israelites (shortly after liberating them from Egypt). He told them they had potential to enter into the Promised Land, but it would be based on the choices they made.  "I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, [that] I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live":  Deut 30:19. His word though spoken to the Hebrews in the wilderness, was the blueprint all humanity would have to follow for their 'potential entry into the spiritual "promised land".

Contrary to what many in these so called modern times, have erroneously perceived, God is not the God of those who are susceptible to gullibility or naivety.  God is the God of intelligent thinkers.  As we said earlier more than anything else God you to think. This is why God placed the mind in you which allows you to fully comprehend everything you have read up to this point. It was in our father Adam that God put on display, the amazing capabilities of the mind. (this is the same mind God has now placed in you).  God did this by giving Adam certain task, instructions and guidelines.  These task and guidelines, demonstrated, that our creator endowed, our father Adam with the ability to, function in a realm of intelligence and creativity, which was far above the capability, and comprehensive skills of all the other creatures on the planet.  Adam could be creative, meditate and ponder, make choices and contemplate the consequences of these choices.  Adam could differentiate between right and wrong, even to the point of feeling guilt and regret, when he gave in to the wrong, either by his actions, or merely  through acquiescence.

For a time God purposely slowed down the intellectual progression of man.  Even though we may view ourselves and being ultra modern, and highly technologically advanced. As modern as we are today, there is certain ancient knowledge and understanding that has been lost. Even though these men did not have computers, and other forms of advanced machinery:  There was certain ancient intelligence and understanding that even today still baffles scientist. The Bible tells us that it was during this time, all men spoke the same language, and they came together with a unity of purpose. What was this unity of purpose?  It was to build a civilization, which would be based on their own creativity and ingenuity.

We are told that it was during this time that a man by the name of Nimrod gathered the people together to build physically and mentally this great society. Thus Nimrod and the men of his day, came together to build a great tower, and a surrounding community around this great tower. 1 And the whole earth was of one language, and of one speech. 2 And it came to pass, as they journeyed from the east, that they found a plain in the land of Shinar; and they dwelt there.  3 And they said one to another, Go to, let us make brick, and burn them thoroughly. And they had brick for stone, and slime had they for morter And they said, Go to, let us build a city and a tower, whose top may reach into heaven; and let us make us a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole Earth  Gen 11:1-4. This great  towering structure, would serve as a unifying point of reference. It was on the banks of the Euphrates River, that Nimrod, the King of Babylon, oversaw the building of this structure, (a skyscraper if you will). It was their intent to dwell together. The tower  is commonly known as "The tower of Babel."  While it may have outwardly looked very impressive to see men, collectively putting their skills and knowledge together, to strive for a common purpose.

God saw this whole set up differently.  God knew that behind the scene,  Satan would manipulate man's intellect to his own harm and destruction.  The tower and society they began to build represented their rejection of God as creator and ruler, and revealed how Satan was manipulating the intellect of man, to promote human achievement, minus God's guidelines. God saw that men were striving to build a society, based on the intellect and ingenuity, while totally ignoring him as their creator, (what we call secular humanism today).  God knew because of their ability to Speak in one tongue, humankind would quickly get to a point where they would be able to accomplish anything they put their minds to. 6 And the LORD said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do. Gen 11:6.

GOD CAUSED A BREAKDOWN IN COMMUNICATION, BY CONFUSING THE LANGUAGES. The reason why God did this was because, God saw that men were striving to build a society, based on the intellect and ingenuity, while totally ignoring him as their creator, (what we call secular humanism today).  God knew that  if he allowed there plan to succeed, Satan would have used man's dramatic increase in knowledge, against man, in very negative ways.  (AS IS EVIDENT TODAY).  It was during the time of the building of the tower of Babel, that God purposely slowed up the increase of knowledge, by confusing the languages.   5 And the LORD came down to see the city and the tower, which the children of men builded.  6 And the LORD said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do. 7 Go to, let us go down, and there confound their language, that they may not understand one another's speech.  Gen 11:5-7.

God knew that had he allowed mankind to continue with one language, they would quickly advance  technologically to the point of self  annihilation. The manifestations of secular humanism, which is now being presented to our younger generation,  and its prideful path can be traced all the way back to ancient Babylon. It was there, on the banks of the Euphrates River, that Nimrod, the King of Babylon, oversaw the building of this huge and unholy architectural monstrosity, the Tower of Babel. The reason God intervened to confuse speech and scatter them over the face of the earth was to prevent mankind fulfilling its and Satan's immediate aim - to establish a One World Order and unite all nations and peoples in the worship of self (thereby Satan).

The pyramids are a testament to us, of knowledge which was once possessed, but now is lost.   The ancient knowledge of how to build such great structures, without modern tools, has confounded scientist for years.  Yet there they stand, as a silent witness to us,  it was this knowledge which God interrupted at Babel.  These structures which were built shortly after the confusing of the languages, is proof to us, of a knowledge lost.  There indeed was a time, when the meeting of the minds of men, allowed engineering feats such as this to be possible. The same God who created the mind,  and intellect is the same God who down through the ages has controlled the rate at which the mind is able to comprehend and create. By confusing of the languages, God slowed down mans intellectual progress.

As we can see, in these last days,  the accelerated increase of knowledge, that God slowed down at the tower of Babel, is now being allowed to go full speed ahead.  "But you, Daniel,  shut up the words, and seal the book  UNTIL the time of the end  many shall run to and fro (world travel will increase dramatically) and knowledge shall increase. Dan 12:4. All one has to do today, is look at the modern day advancements of mankind, and it becomes obvious, that knowledge is dramatically increasing. As this age comes to a close, we find that man is building yet another towering edifice to himself. However, this time the Tower is more a spiritual idea than it is bricks and mortar, although the finished work will be a system of absolute control, both spiritual, political and economic, with worldwide influence, pursuing the exact same goals in the exact same way as its ancient predecessor. At Babel,  without clarity of communication, mankind was fragmented and disempowered, which led to a great dispersion, (they were scattered). The Bible tells us that just before this world ends, that Satan will be allowed to gather the nations together, with a unity of purpose.  That purpose being to fight against and destroy, all that is godly on the earth. What will help bring this about, will be a dramatic increase in man's knowledge and mobility.  All of which man will use to further rebel against God. Satan will use, this same increase in knowledge manipulate, deceive, and dominate. The flow of knowledge has now turned into a raging river.  Thus that which Satan was hindered from doing at Babel is now back on track.

And knowledge shall increase. Dan 12:4.   There are some theologians who say that the primary application of "knowledge increased" is in reference to people understanding the prophecies of the book of Daniel.  I personally disagree with this assumption, not because I am so much smarter, but because the obviousness of the type of knowledge which has increased.   As we examine our world today, the greater increase in knowledge is not in regards to the things of God, but in the areas of science, medicine, travel, and technology.   In these last days, God is permitting the understanding and knowledge of the mind of man to increase.

With this increase, we are now seeing what God knew all along.  God knew that this dramatic increase in knowledge would not bring men closer to Him.  In fact just the reverse is happening, the modern day dramatic increase in knowledge, is pulling men further away from God. All we have to do is look at what many men and women of learning have done with this advancement of knowledge and understanding.  Men have used this increase in knowledge to deduce that we owe our existence to the process of evolution, rather than the creativity of God. God knew in advance that men would use the dramatic increase in knowledge to engineer devices, which would bring about world annihilation.

Today humankind is actually on the brink of nuclear annihilation. Only in the last few years has mankind acquired this capability.  There has never existed any other invention, on the part of man, that casts as much fear into the hearts of men as does the terrible array of nuclear war-headed intercontinental missiles that could destroy this earth and all life upon it?  In regards to these modern times, we are told, Except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened.  Matt 24:22.

It is God's will that we pull down the strongholds which are entrenched in our minds.  What are the strongholds?  you ask.  Anton Bosch tells us, "These strongholds are habits, thought patterns and complexes that have been built in our mind over many years. They are built one thought at a time and become very powerful as they dominate the landscape of our thinking and feelings. The world and its systems continue to build forts in our lives through a constant stream of thoughts, ideas and arguments that infiltrate our minds through the gates of our senses, primarily our eyes and ears. We will never win the battle against these strongholds until we stop the flow of misinformation to our minds. Our arguments against God's will, His Word become so fortified in our minds that nothing short of a miracle will be able to penetrate with the truth. It is often over years of self-justification and rationalizing that these strongholds are built, stone by stone, argument by argument until it is a fortress behind which we hide from God and our responsibilities. But if we are to be the people He wants us to be, these strongholds must be torn down and the thoughts hiding behind them brought into obedience to the Lord Christ. Paul says these arguments that elevate themselves against God must be cast or pulled down. In order to begin breaking down the strongholds, we need to immerse ourselves in the Word and be obedient to it. As the Word begins to contradict the arguments of the world, the flesh and the Devil and we believe and act on the Word, the strongholds will come tumbling down, argument by argument and reason by reason."

"For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ" (2 Corinthians 10:3-5) Anton Bosch tells us,  "The Christian is locked in an intense war. However, many of us are so interested in fighting the external war with the Devil, that we forget that much of our battle is not with external forces, but within our own mind and thoughts. In these verses Paul provides the key to victory in this area where most Christians suffer constant defeat. He reminds us that our weapons and strategy are not fleshly or carnal. This is the first key to victory. Most Christians employ fleshly, psychological and human tactics to deal with spiritual problems. Many books that provide "six easy steps to victory" will employ human wisdom and add a few Bible verses to sanctify a system they have borrowed or stolen from the world. Strip those Bible verses out of the book or sermon and you are left with a motivational book or talk that the world will pay money to read or hear. When something is that acceptable to the world we need to question whether it is indeed authentic Christianity. I have no doubt that many of those formulas work to some extent and for a while. They are just like the many "cures" for weight problems that are touted every day - they provide instant solutions, for a while, but in the end leave you worse-off than before. Our weapons are mighty in God. They are powerless in and of themselves, but in God they are mighty, powerful and able to bring those thoughts under control and to break down the mightiest strongholds. These weapons include the Word of God (Ephesians 6:17), prayer (Ephesians 6:18) and the anointing of the Holy Spirit (Acts 1:8).

No one understands the mind, and what goes on there, better than Christ.  It was Christ  who designed the mind: and decreed, through the functions which takes place in the mind, that man was a living soul.   3All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.Jn 1:3.   When Christ came on earth, his message was directed at the minds of men, (though at that time many of his listeners, may have thought the heart he was referring to, was the one in their chest).   Now that knowledge has increased, it's easier for us to see just how advanced the Bible is, when it comes to the mind of man.  Satan knew all along that the key to man's victory over him,  or defeat by him,  centered around the way men would use the mind God placed in them. Therefore it's the one thing Satan seeks to blind and deceive.  According to Paul Satan has been very effective, in sabotaging the minds of men.  3But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost:  4In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.  2nd Cor 4:3-4.  There is now a battle raging today, one in which your eternal destiny hangs in the balance. Christ came to give you the victory in this battle.  In fact Paul tells us that through Christ we can be more than a conqueror. "Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us." Rom 8:37.  For many believers today, rather than them being more than conquerors, they have become the conquered. This is mainly due to the fact, that they don't fully understand what the battle is about, and where the actual battlefield is.  Both Christ and the apostle Paul defined the battle we are in and the actual location of the battlefield. Christ said that which binds and defeats you,  originates from within you, and flows outwardly.  When Jesus spoke of men being defiled, he said the source of this defilement, was the heart ( what we call the mind). 21For from within, out of the heart (MIND) of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, 22Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness: 23All these evil things come from within, and defile the man.  Mk 7:21-23.

The heart Which Christ spoke of which defiles man, was not referring to the muscle in our chest which pumps blood. Christ was not referring to the physical heart of man but the MIND of man. The heart which we use to love , or hate, trust or not trust, etc,  is located in our head not our chest. Many in the church have trouble accepting the fact that when the Bible speaks of the heart, it is referring to the mind. Yet the brain is the one faculty in our body which allows us to fulfill the command to love and obey God.  Our ability to understand and comprehend, along with attitudes we develop toward God, man and this present world, are all formulated in our mind, therefore (as we shall see throughout this study), the mind of man is where the word of God is most directed. All the critical areas of our lifestyle and conduct, centers around the choices, we make.   The place we make all of our choices is the mind.  Paul said he was concerned that the saints were subject to fall prey to the same deception in their minds, as Eve did in the garden.  This concern on the part of Paul, confirms to us, that Satan still uses the same tactics as he did in the beginning, because Satan knows that the mind is still the key. (compare).   I am jealous for you with godly jealousy. For I have betrothed you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ. But I fear, lest somehow, as the serpent deceived Eve by his craftiness, so your minds may be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ (2 Corinthians 11:2-3).  PAUL CLEARLY TELLS US ABOUT THE BATTLEFIELD AND THE ENEMY, AS WELL AS WHAT WE MUST DO TO WIN, (COMPARE BELOW).

Paul tells us that we are to take "the whole armor of God" so that we "may be able to withstand in the time of battle. 10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.  11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.  12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.  Ephe 6:10-12.  Paul's comment,   "For we wrestle (struggle) not against flesh and blood" Is a reminder to you that the true battle you are in, is not with the flesh and blood person you see, when looking in the mirror, or the fleshly bodies of those around you, even if they mean you harm. Your greatest enemy is not without but it's within you. The battle that we are in takes place in our mind, (what we normally refer to as the heart).   Paul expresses his deep concern, for the saints, in the area of the mind.

More than anything else, when it comes to our eternal destiny, it is the thoughts, opinions, and desires; we most cater to, embrace, and pursue which determine our final outcome. The Bible clearly tells us that there is a mindset we can function in which leads to eternal death, and another mindset we can function in which leads to eternal life. "6For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. 7Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be, Rom 8:7-8.  As we can see, the Bible tells us there are two mindsets we can walk in. One is a carnal mind and the other is a spiritual mind. Most people  don't realize the significance of their thoughts , in regards to  the impact it has on their relationship with both God and man. The mind is the one place where we decide, evaluate, love, hate, believe, disbelieve, etc.  Therefore when it comes to the battle we are in, concerning the choices we make, the opinions and attitudes we embrace, and our view of God, the battlefield is our mind.   Satan is very much aware of this fact, therefore he focuses all of his energies of corruption and deceit toward the minds of men.  3But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost:  4In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them. 2ND Cor 4:3-4.  It is therefore imperative that we by Gods help learn to discipline ourselves to think the way God would have us to.

The first step to overcoming the carnal mind, is to tell the truth.  First to yourself, and then to God.  And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.  Jn 8:32..  This is important because God who made the mind, knows everything you're thinking. Thus saith the LORD; I know the things that come into your mind, every one of them  Ezek 11:5.   When a parson honestly and earnestly thinks about the meaning of life, its beginning and end, and examines himself inwardly. This leads to but one logical conclusion, there is a God.  In order to appreciate God we must first think, in order to comprehend our true, character, purpose of conduct, and our actual state of being we must think.  It is not God who does not want us to think, it's Satan.  Paul admonishes us to think, 7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.  8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. Phil 4:7-8.   The reason why God wants us to think, is because when we think, with the sincere desire of wanting to know the truth, about our creator and ourselves, the easier it becomes for the voice of God to reveal himself to us. God promises that you will find peace, only when you focus your mind on him. Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee. Isaiah 26:3.   Three things to think about. #1. You can't fool God, God said.  "This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart (mind) is far from me." Matt 15:8.  #2. You must totally make up your mind, God promised, "And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart, (mind)." Jer 29:13.  #3. If you in your mind decide to truly trust God he will save you. For with the heart (mind) man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.  For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. Rom 10:10-11.

Even since the fall in Eden God still has a way to reach you.  like your father Adam before, God placed in you the ability to think and ponder certain questions in your mind.  In his perfect wisdom, and supreme intelligence, God knew that when you came to the point in your life, where you earnestly and honestly, used your mind to think about life as it pertains to you, certain questions would automatically come to the forefront, of your inquisitiveness.  God designed your mind in such a way, that deep contemplation, compels your mind to ask itself, where did I come, why am I here? What happens to me when my time of termination (death) arrives? Your ability to ponder questions such as these is what makes you so unique.  No other creature on earth (dogs, cats, etc) can ponders these things. Of all the creatures   God  placed the answers to these questions in his instruction manual, the Bible (the thinking man's book). THINK about this, if God gave you the ability to ponder life, it has to be for a reason.  He did it so you could comprehend, 1. Your past, where you came from,  2. Your present where you are now, and  3. Your future, where you are heading.  In fact Christ which is the living word tells us he dwells in all three of these areas of concern,, our past, present, and future.  I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, (the present) and which was, (the past), and which is to come, (the future). the Almighty.  Rev 1:8.
